National Prep School Showcase Player Profiles, Saturday, November 21

College basketball recruiting of high school talent is a very uneven and too often flawed process. Prospects from heavily media-covered and scouted high schools and AAU programs tend to get over-pursued, while many, many worthy players from under-covered programs stay undervalued... and under-offered by colleges that could use them.

A postgrad year at a prep program is how many of those players get the look they deserve. Prep programs are built to develop players and place them in college, and they put strong prospects on the floor with and against each other. For a college scout with a limited calendar, that makes them the most efficient stop there is. Prep play is also the best preview of the college game, where older, stronger, longer bodies shrink the floor and change how the game is played. Scouts get a truer read on who will excel against college men, not just against high school teenagers.

No multi-team prep event in the country gives a higher-level preview than the National Prep Showcase, Nov. 20-22 at Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, CT. The field reads like the top of last season’s national prep team computer rankings (https://www.neprepbasketball.net/news/2025-26-national-prep-computer-rankings/27052). It also tends to preview most of the teams that earn bids to the National Prep Championship (https://www.nationalprepchampionship.com/page/national-prep-championship) in March.

The 24 teams will play 20 games in front of college coaches from every level, national media and often up to a dozen NBA scouts. For access to that much future college star talent, the setting is intimate: a cozy D3 gym where every seat is right on top of the action. The showcase comes early in the season and often launches a player’s recruiting to a much higher level of interest. For international players new to the States, it is often their first look from American scouts.

Below is every team playing Saturday, November 21, each with college scouts’ valued “player profiles” link, which often helps them prioritize their “must-see” lists.
