Williston Northampton School (MA) 2026-27 Player Profiles
Established in 1841 by Samuel Williston, a wealthy button manufacturer, Williston Northampton School as Williston Seminary. The "Northampton" half came from a later merger with the Northampton School for Girls. It is a private, coeducational, day and boarding school located on a 125-acre campus in Easthampton, MA about 10 miles northwest of Springfield. It serves grades 7-12. with an enrollment of 435 with and a 6:1 student-teacher ratio. Their boarding students come from 25 states and 30 countries, with international enrollment concentrated in East Asia and the Middle East.
Athletics are an integral part of a Williston education. Their boys varsity basketball team is a perennial power in the highly competitive, seven state-wide New England Prep School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) Class A (large school) division, winning that post season tournament championship as recently as 2025. That team was led by point guard, Preston Edmead.This past winter, Edmead was CAA Rookie of the Year, Second Team All-CAA, and the CAA Championship's Most Outstanding Player at Hofstra University, averaging 16.1 points and 4.5 assists. In April, he moved up to ACC ball by transferring to North Carolina State.
The team is head coached by Ben Farmer. As a player, Coach Farmer completed a post-graduate year at St. Thomas More under Coach Jere Quinn before playing at Marist College. His coaching résumé includes assistant stops at Wesleyan University and the University of Hartford.

Padiet Amum (2027) 6'8 small forward - An Australian in from Easthampton, MA, a good player with lots of upside to tap into. Amum is a long and mobile lefty, with a soft touch. Max Kellogg (2027) 6'2 guard - 2025-26 Western New England Preps All Defensive Team. A long and lean scorer, Kellogg does a great job of utilizing his length to create separation. He’s confident with the ball in his hands and does a good job of changing direction off the bounce. Off the ball, he does a good job of continuing to move and utilize screens and does his work early to get his feet set. On the defensive end of the floor, he’s often in the right spot at the right time, and thus, creates a lot of turnovers and deflections. Kyle Seltzer (2027) 6'10 center - A 4 Star rated prospect. #11th ranked center in the nation by ESPN. #18 ranked player in Massachusetts by NERR. Seltzer's touch around the rim and footwork is phenomenal. He also has a pure shooting stroke. A great teammate of high character. Offered by Siena. Ryder Brainis (2028) 5'10 point guard, - A transfer from New Hampton School (NH), Brainis is a tough, pass-first point guard. He plays with a good pace and feel. Does a great job of getting into the lane and spraying to teammates. He is a good shooter from 3 and will mix it up for loose balls and rebounds. Very good on ball defender. Kingsley Rogers (2028) 6'5 guard - Top New England prospect watch list by NE Basketball Journal. 2025-26 All NEPSAC A Honorable Mention. 2025-26 All Western New England Preps First Team as a sophomore. Rogers is a smooth scoring guard who can find the rim in a plethora of ways. His size is imposing on the perimeter and has no issue shooting over defenders. He is effective getting to spots in the mid-range. Rogers uses his long limbs to create second chance scoring efforts. Will Zhou (2028) 6'3 shooting guard -From Beijing, China. This will be Zhou to be his third year at Williston. He is an elite shooter of the basketball. He does a nice job of using screens to get open off the ball, is consistently shot ready on the catch, and has the ability to make shots in bunches from three. He's improved with the ball in his hands and does a nice job of getting into his mid-range game off the bounce. Defensively, he can guard all three spots on the perimeter and is able to keep opposing ball handlers out of the paint. PH profile
