Expression Prep Has a >90% College Placement Rate

The Expression Prep Post Grad Basketball Program (Ex Prep) is a post grad developmental program designed to prepare motivated student-athletes for success at the college level. Based in Huntington, WV, Ex Prep provides a structured, college-style environment where athletes train, study, compete, and grow every day—both as players and as young men.

At Ex Prep, they believe development goes beyond skill work. The program emphasizes discipline, accountability, leadership, and daily improvement. Through film study, advanced skill training, strength and conditioning, nutrition education, and competitive practices, players learn how to perform at a high level and understand what it takes to succeed in today’s fast, physical, analytics-driven game.

Ex Prep athletes compete in national showcases, elite tournaments, and high-level matchups that provide valuable exposure and real college-game preparation. Every player receives individualized coaching tailored to their position, their goals, and their long-term plan. They train athletes to play fast, think the game, make smart decisions, and thrive under pressure.

But Ex Prep is more than basketball—it’s a culture. A brotherhood. A daily commitment to becoming 1% better, bringing energy and effort, and embracing the gritty work it takes to rise, win, and repeat. Their motto consists of

"We don’t chase talent. We develop it.

We don’t run from pressure. We are the pressure."

And every day, they prepare their players not just for the next season, but for the next stage of life. As they are heading into their third year, they are working to keep their college placement rate above 90%.

The team's head coach is Stacy Shannon, a two time National Championship coach. Over the period of 20 years, he has helped over 200 athletes go into college at all levels. Going into his third year as the Head Coach and Director of Basketball for Expression Prep he has already racked up 92 wins. He is assisted by Jamie Page.

The team competes in the Ohio Prep Conference and participates in the Big Shot Prep Nationals post season tournament. Ex Prep's 2025-26 game schedule and results can be found by clicking here
