CATS Academy Boston 2026-27 Player Profiles
CATS Academy Boston is an international boarding and day school that is actually located in Braintree, MA, about 20 minutes south of downtown Boston on a 23-acre campus. CATS stands for Cambridge, Arts, Technology & Science. The school serves 380 students in grades 8-12, plus post grad. The student body is heavily international as the school focuses on attracting student-athletes from around the world. The school is a part of CATS Global Schools, a UK-based network.
The CATS Boston boys’ Basketball Program is an elite premier prep school program that attracts top student-athletes from all over the world. The program concentrates on player development, preparation, and an emphasis on shaping high-performance student-athletes. This prepares them to excel in their careers at the collegiate level. Last year, they ran multiple teams, a Nike Elite Youth Basketball League, a Prep team and a varsity team. For 2026-27, they will not run an EYBL team. The Prep Team is set up to compete in the New England Basketball League (NEBL), one of the nation's highest level prep leagues. The National team will play a high level high school and prep school schedule. The varsity team plays a full schedule vs varsity competition and competes in the Southeastern New England (SENE) conference.
Todd Quarles, the founder and director of the renown Nike EYBL grass roots program, Expressions Elite, is also the CATS Boston General Manager of Basketball. For the 2026-27 Quarles has made a head coaching change on the National Team, Miguel Bocachica is the new head coach. Coach Bocachica, as a player, was Philadelphia All-Public League from his sophomore through senior years. In college, he played at LIU Brooklyn (NY), West Chester University (PA) and the University of Great Falls (MT). After which, Bocachica played professionally in Puerto Rico for two years. His coaching path includes, assistant coach at Imhotep Charter (PA), West Catholic Preparatory, head coach, 2018-2025 where he took a previously non-competitive program to its first-ever PIAA State Championship in 2023, and a second in 2025, back-to-back Philadelphia Catholic League Final Fours. AT West Catholic, he produced multiple DI players, with both a 100% graduation and college-placement rate. He was named Philadelphia Catholic League Coach of the Year (2022), PIAA 3A Coach of the Year (2023) and Pennsylvania State Coach of the Year (2025). Last year, he made a one-season stop before CATS as head coach of the City Reapers, Overtime Elite team. He's also coached on the EYBL grass roots circuit with Team Final.
Thomas Garrick Jr. will be heading into his second year leading the CATS Academy Prep team and into his eighth year coaching in the NEPSAC. A Massachusetts native, Garrick played college basketball at Johnson & Wales University and professionally overseas in Mexico's CIBACOPA before turning to coaching. As head assistant at Dexter Southfield School (MA), he helped lead the program to a conference finals appearance within three years. He then spent a season as an assistant at CATS Academy, guiding the team to a NEPSAC AAA championship run and a Sweet Sixteen finish nationally. Known for his passion and mentorship, Garrick has helped develop numerous college players across all divisions. He also coaches in the Nike EYBL each summer and was recently named a Nike EYBL Top 100 Coach.

Baron “Sonny” Batchelor (2027) 6’5 small forward - 2025-26 All Founders League Honorable Mention. Batchelor is a versatile weapon. He sees the floor and exploits the defense where its vulnerable as both a score and a passer. He plays clinic level defense, in a stance, with his hands up and communicating to his teammates. Has received D1 offers, including Florida International, Fairfield, East Carolina, Quinnipiac and La Salle. Plays club ball with Pro Level Titans. 3.9 gpa RTB profile
Franciszek Boruciński-Hrycyk (2027) 6’11 forward - Boruciński-Hrycyk is an efficient interior finisher who rebounds well on both ends in competition against European men. 2024 Poland National 16u team.
Donovan Clement (2027) 6’9 forward - A transfer from St Marks School (MA), 2026 NEPSAC Class B-Large Tournament MVP. 2025-26 All NEPSAC B-Large. 2025-26 All Independent School League Honorable Mention. #19 ranked player in New England by NE Basketball Journal. #8 ranked player in Massachusetts by NERR. Clement is a big with the ability to shoot the 3 ball as well as knifing through defenses to get to the rim. He is an outstanding rebounder, who uses his great length to own the boards. His lateral quickness and length help him guard anyone on the floor as he can switch onto guards as well as protect the rim. Has been offered by Holy Cross, UMass-Lowell and Boston University. Malik Hughes (2027) 6’7 small forward - A post grad from Archbishop Ryan High (PA) where last season he averaged 19.3 ppg, 5.4 rpg and 1.8 apg. Holds the ARHS single-game scoring record (43 points). Hughes with a high motor and contributed in a variety of ways, particularly on the glass where he routinely positioned himself well to secure rebounds. Offensively, Hughes flashed the ability to space the floor, knocking down perimeter shots and proving he can make defenses pay when left open. His combination of rebounding, floor-spacing ability, and overall activity makes him a valuable two-way piece.Has been offered by Manhattan. Plays club ball with Philly Pride and WeR1. PH profile
Sidy Kandji (2027) 6’11 forward - Kandji is a force on the the low block. He has a number of different moves to finish with. He is an exceptional rim protector in both changing shots and blocking them. He has been consistently improving his ability to shoot the 3. Plays club ball with Expressions Premier.
Filip Mozoul (2027) 6’8 small forward - Transfer from Vermont Academy, Mozoul has the ability to score both on the block and from beyond the arc. He is improving his ability to attack close outs by putting the ball on the floor and getting to the rim. Plays club ball with Expressions Elite-EYBL. PH profile
Nyisah Miranda (2028) 5’10 point guard - Miranda is described as a mid-range fiend by Prep Hoops. He handles the ball well and is a leader. He makes good decisions with the ball, finding ways to get into his shot or creating for his teammates. He scores, overachieves as a rebounder and forces steals. Video highlights
Corey Hadden (2029) 6’4 small forward - #7 ranked player in New England by Prep Hoops. Hadden is a physically developed forward with long arms, he's at his best in space, where he can use his quickness and strength to attack defenders off the bounce while getting to the rim. He finishes with soft touch over size, has the ability to get by the initial defender in isolations, and shows good instincts on the offensive glass. He's a multi-positional defender that can guard on the wing or in the paint, does a nice job of quickly taking away space, and plays with a good motor on the glass. Ater Maker Bol Meen (2027) 6'9 forward - #21 ranked prospect in New England by Prep Hoops. #10 ranked player in New England by NE Basketball Journal. #13 ranked player in Massachusetts by NERR. Bol Meen has incredible length, size, and athleticism and combines these physical tools with an exceptional skill set. He has a beautiful shot from the three point line, and he's a really solid ball handler with the agility and change-or-direction necessary to handle it against smaller wings. Chris Dalton (2027) 6’0 guard - Dalton is athletic and lethal with the ball in his hands and uses his hesitation and dribble-moves to get into the paint at will. Once he gets there, he uses incredible hops and can finish easily above the rim—he had a good number of dunks yesterday, including some in traffic. His three-point shot is still coming along, but Dalton's pressure on the rim as well as his passing vision and willingness to set up teammates makes him a super effective offensive player. Samartine Hill (2027) 5'9 point guard - A transfer from Our Lady of Mt Carmel (MD), Hill is an aggressive 2-way value, capable of playing on or off the ball. Hill can ratchet up defensive ball pressure, bottle up and turn over opposing guards. along the sideline. Hill also has a full and versatile offensive skill set. He seeks out contact on drives and draws fouls, and knocks down floaters after getting into the teeth of the defense. He pushes the pace and makes timely reads in transition, knocks down perimeter jumpers behind screens, and throws runout passes over the top in transition. Plays club ball with Team Thrill. David Lunn (2027) 6’5 small forward - 2026 New Mexico Gatorade Player of the Year. Lunn is a physical specimen and an elite athlete. Holds multiple D1 offers, including New Mexico, Iona and Montana. Plays club ball with Team Thrill-UAA. PH profile
Bol Bol Wunrok (2027) 7’0 forward - Originally from South Sudan, a transfer from St. John's Northwestern DME Academy (WI), Wunrok is a versatile forward who is a highly intriguing long-term prospect due to his unique blend of size, length, and perimeter skills. He possesses a long wingspan and fluid athleticism that allows him to function either as a stretch-four or face-up player. Plays club ball with Team Herro. 4.0 gpa
Jose Dias (2028) 7’1 forward - A transfer from Bella Vista Prep (AZ), Dias is a big time shot blocker who will alter or block shots in bunches. He runs the floor, moves fluidly from end to end and will cover in space. He dunks it easily and will shoot it from mid-range and in. PH profile
Tiago Lee (2028) 6’6 guard - A transfer from Gainesville High (GA), Lee is an explosive, high-energy defender with the length and athleticism to make his presence felt all over the floor. Offensively, he is a major shot-making threat who should look to get involved early and stay active throughout the possession. Constant movement and off-ball activity are a big part of his game, using his speed and athleticism to create opportunities and keep defenses working. Plays club ball with AE5. PH profile
Rashard Miller (2028) 6’7 wing - Miller is a high upside player that is a mismatch with his shot making at his size. A good athlete who has a nose for the ball on both ends, Miller is an effective slasher and good defender when he's engaged. Plays club ball with Team Durant. PH profile
Fynn Reick (2028) 6’7 wing - Reick is a highly touted playmaker from Germany. is projected to be a major target for D1 schools. He has been a standout player for the German U16 National Team, at events like the FIBA U16 EuroBasket. A standout trait is his court vision. He routinely operates at the top of the key, threading advanced bounce passes through traffic and executing crisp entry passes into the post. He is comfortable in scoring from the mid-range, featuring turnaround jump shots and the ability to back down smaller defenders. He is an athletic finisher who can adjust mid-air or play above the rim with two-handed dunks. Defensively, his length allows him to be highly disruptive. He jumps passing lanes, generates turnovers, and crashes the offensive glass.
Marcelin Mukendi (2028) 6’6 wing - A decorated young talent with a winning pedigree, Mukendi led Shaker High to the Class AAA New York State Championship last year, earning All-Tournament MVP honors with 14 points in the title game. Known for his explosive athleticism, smooth jumper, and tenacious defense, Mukendi wins at both ends—crashing the boards, filling the stat sheet, and delivering under pressure. With his competitive edge and proven ability to shine on big stages, he’s one of the most exciting impact-makers in the region. He plays club ball with BABC. Video highlights
