Bohlen’s Bears: Landon School (MD) 2026-27 Player Profiles

Landon School (MD) is a college preparatory school for boys in grades 3-12, located in Bethesda, Maryland, just outside Washington, D.C. The school was founded in 1929 by Paul Landon Banfield and his wife, Mary Lee, and has long had a reputation for cultivating athletes.

The Bears compete in the Interstate Athletic Conference (IAC), alongside other all-boys schools in D.C., Maryland and Virginia. The IAC is one of the deepest independent-school basketball conferences on the East Coast, with Landon battling rivals such as Georgetown Prep (North Bethesda, MD), Episcopal High School (Alexandria, VA) and The Bullis School (Potomac, MD) on a nightly basis. Landon also schedules aggressively outside the league, with recent non-conference games against Fairfax Christian, Whitman, Takoma Academy and Shipley, along with holiday tournament play.   Players who come through Landon are tested against high-major talent throughout the winter, which makes them easier to project at the next level.

The Bears are led by head coach Chris Bohlen. Coach Bohlen is in his 34th year in coaching and teaching, including 24 as head coach. He has a career record of 337-191. This is his third year at the helm for Landon.
