2026-27 Brewster Academy Returns to NEPSAC AAA
Founded 1820, Brewster Academy is a co-educational independent boarding and day school on 80 acres in Wolfeboro, NH, occupying half a mile of shoreline on Lake Winnipesaukee, two hours north of Boston. It educates grades 9–12 plus post-graduates, about 350 students from 29 states and 23 countries. 6:1 student-faculty ratio.
The basketball program's reputation is one of the most impressive in the land. Boston Magazine profiled them in 2015 as arguably the best high school basketball program in the country. Their impressive basketball alumni list includes Donovan Mitchell '15, Jalen Adams '15, Buddy Boeheim '18, Jalen Lecque '19, Kadary Richmond '20, Sebastian Wilkins '25, 'Matas Buzelis '22, Devin Carter '21, and most recently Ebuka Okorie '25, who last season led the ACC in scoring as a Stanford freshman and broke the ACC freshman single-season scoring record.
For the past three seasons their National Team played in the Nike EYBL Scholastic league. Last year, it went 30-6 in 2025-26, 9-5 in EYBL, finishing 3rd. This season, they are returning to having their National Team compete in the New England Prep School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) AAA division. As a prep team, the program has produced seven National Prep Championships, eleven Final Four appearances, an 87% winning percentage.
On May 1, Brewster brought in Luke Rosinski as the Head Coach of the Boys National Prep Team and Director of Basketball Programs, succeeding Jason Smith. This is his first head coaching job. Rosinski is a Granite State native who grew up watching Brewster rise nationally, then played against them in his two years at Kimball Union Academy (NH). He went on to play D1 ball at the University of New Hampshire. He started his coaching career as a graduate assistant at UNC Greensboro. Then he moved over to national level prep ball at Hargrave Military Academy (VA). In his final of three seasons there, he was the Associate Head Coach of their National Prep team. Rosinski will be assisted by Nate Letendre. Letendre is coming in from Worcester Academy (MA) where he was an assistant coach for three seasons.
Brewster will also be running a developmental team this season in the New England Independent Prep League AA division. That team will be coached by Aidan Godfrey, a former college player at Swarthmore College '25.

James Minlend (2027) 6’7 small forward - #196 ranked player in the nation by Rivals. #147 ranked player in the nation by On3. From Concord, NC. Minlend is a very gifted and versatile players in the class on the strength of his inside-out two-way game, his length, two-way instincts, and ability to exploit favorable matchups. He scores in variety of ways, finishing at the rim, mid-post isolations, and as a screener comfortable rolling or popping. Defensively he's the standout, having the physical tools to guard nearly everyone on the floor. Currently being recruited by Washington State, UNC Greensboro, and Iona. PH profile
Alex Pace (2027) 6’2 guard - #178 ranked player in the nation by Rivals. From Camden, NJ. Pace is as skilled as they come and is going to effectively and confidently run Brewster's offense this coming season. He just starred on the UA circuit, and now he'll have a chance to do so at one of the most historic prep schools in the country. He's a super under-control point guard with good vision and decision-making, but he also has a great-looking stroke and can make shots off the dribble from the mid-range or three. He doesn't have ridiculous athleticism at the rim, but he has a knack for using his off arm to throw the defense's balance off and create easy finishing opportunities for himself. Chris Rochester (2027) 6’8 forward - From Great Falls, VA. Rochester is a skilled, stretch big man. He seems most comfortable playing facing the rim at the offensive end and has shooting range out to the three point line. Combine that with a high basketball IQ and you have a prospect with plenty of upside. Currently being recruited by Cornell. PH profile

Wilson Youssef (2027) 6’4 guard - From Pinkerton High, Derry, NH, Youssef, 2025-26 NHBCO D-I 1st Team All-State after averaging 18.1 points per game this winter, good for 5th in D-I. Youssef was a standout during Pinkerton's state title run, operating at a high level as a primary creator in transition and in the half court. He has a terrific feel for the game with the ball in his hands, making good decisions as a passer, and showing the ability to create his own shot off the bounce. He does a nice job of moving off the ball and knocking down threes, uses his length to his advantage defensively to create turnovers, and never lets his competitive level dip. PH profile
Kelvin “Pop” Anderson (2028) 6’2 point guard - #60 ranked player in the nation by Rivals. From Virginia Beach, VA. Anderson is a dynamic and elite two-way player who combines explosive athleticism, strength, and toughness. Dangerous with the ball in his hands, he is a lethal shot-maker who consistently gets downhill, creates advantages, and makes the right reads for both himself and his teammates. His relentless motor, competitive spirit, and ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor make him a true warrior every time he steps on the court. Trey Edwards (2028) 6’6 small forward - #55 ranked player in the nation by Rivals. From Melissa, TX. Edwards has been one of the most explosive scorers in the EYBL 16u division, averaging 24.6 points per game while shooting 51.8% from the field and 41.5% from three-point range. He consistently creates offense from all three levels and has shown the ability to take over games as both a shot-maker and downhill attacker. His combination of efficiency and volume places him among the elite scorers in the region. Currently being recruited by Butler, USC, Clemson, Ole Miss, Georgia Tech, Virginia, Wake Forest, Boston College, Vanderbilt, Georgia, Auburn, Creighton, St. Louis, Florida State, Texas A&M, NC State, California, UCF, Virginia Tech, Tennessee, Oklahoma State, LSU, Missouri, Arizona State, Memphis, Cincinnati, TCU, UNLV, Memphis, Kansas State, Mississippi State, and more. Maxx Tjongondjoza (2028) 6’9 forward - #137 ranked player in the nation by Rivals. From Brighton, UK, Tjongondoza is a powerful paint presence who consistently imposes his will near the rim. He finishes around the basket with force and efficiency, even through heavy contact. His blend of strength, mobility, and touch gives him an immediate impact on both ends of the floor. With his physical tools and improving skill set, he carries a high ceiling as he continues to develop. Currently being recruited by Fairfield. Plays club ball with PSA Cardinals. Cannon Combs (2029) 6’10 forward - Prospect Central has him at #49 nationally by Prospect Central. From Gardendale, AL., Combs is capable of stepping out on the floor and making shots while also playing in the paint. Combs also does a good job of establishing position on the block where he can finish with touch at the rim. Currently being recruited by Auburn, Southern Miss, and Jacksonville State.
Alex Francis (2029) 6’7 small forward - From Ontario, CAN, Francis has great shooting ability and potential. He has great positional size and brings an unbelievable work ethic. The lefty makes finishes at the rim with either hand, block’s shots defensively and spaces the floor consistently knocking down shots. Francis is just scratching the surface and is looking to make unbelievable growth his sophomore year.
