
St Thomas More School 2025-26 Player Profiles
St. Thomas More School is a college-preparatory school in Oakdale, CT. The school serves grades 8–12 and postgraduate courses. It was established in 1962 by James Hanrahan, a former Fairfield University D1 basketball coach. Over the years, the athletics program at St. Thomas More gained national relevance, especially in basketball, with athletes joining the school to improve their grades and get better opportunities to play at DI level.
Last year, their National team made it to the NEPSAC AAA Division tournament Final Four, and they finished computer-ranked as the #6 prep team the nation.
For the 2025-26 season they will run two college prep teams. St Thomas More NEPSAC and St Thomas More NEIBL.
The NEPSAC team is head coached by the Basketball Hall of Fame Nominee Jere Quinn, who is in his fifth decade at the helm. He is ably assisted by Milo Luciano. They will compete in the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council AAA Division.
The NEIBL team is coached by Cane Broome and his assistant is Philip Simplicio. They will compete in the New England Independent Prep League.

Nic Hernandez (2026) 6’2 guard - Hernandez is an off ball scorer with good feel. He spaces well and has a quick catch-n-shoot release. scored the basketball in a variety of ways. Plays AAU with San Antonio Suns (TX). 4.0 gpa 1320 SAT
Johnny Keenan (2026) 5'11 point guard, St Thomas More School (CT) White - 2024-25 NY State Sports Writers Assoc All State Class AAA at Iona Prep (NY). 2024-25 LoHud Westchester/Putnam All-Star. Keenan is very quick, crafty and agile. He was a 1,000 point scorer, but really was the engine of the entire offense for his high school team. He steady and efficient creator with scoring appetite. He is also a very effective shooter and can be used as a spacer. Plays AAU with NY Gauchos.
Pat Otey (2026) 6’5, 187lbs, guard - Coming to STM from Real Wild Energy (OTE), Otey is an elite off-ball scorer with real feel and creativity. He flows well with the ball and scores efficiently from all areas of the floor. He has an amazing feel and is never in any sort of rush offensively. He uses slow steps very well and also gets into the body of the defender to offset their balance and strength. He will see his pic-n-roll usage spike in the STM offense. Has received multiple D1 offers, including Providence, Florida State and Villanova. Plays AAU with Georgia Stars.
Aima Sekiya (2026) 6’0, 135lbs, point guard - Sekiya is a combo guard with a rounded skillset. He can create space and has a functional handle.
Dave Smith (2026) 6’5, small forward - 2024-25 GametimeCT All State First Team at Glastonbury High (CT). 2024 Kohs Tournament MVP. Smith has a mature frame with functional and explosive athleticism that gives him the balance to finishes around the basket. He is strong and has the ability to creates off of the dribble and makes tough shots, earning himself the nickname "Downhill Dave". He has solid shooting mechanics and can serve as secondary ball handler. Plays AAU with New Haven Heat. RTB profile
Dillon Callahan (2027) 6’5 guard- Callan is transferring in from Iona Prep (NY) where was 2024-25 LoHud Westchester/Putnam All-Star Second Team and 2024-25 CHSAA AA Second Team as a sophomore. He is a high motor connector who can slot in at the 1, 2, or 3. He has an appetite for rebounding on both ends. He has a functional and improving shot and which is leading to an increase in 3pt volume. He has a high feel in the pick-n-roll game and is a creator in transition.
DJ Hawkins (2027) 6’7 wing - #1 ranked player in New England by Prep Hoops. Hawkins is an athletic and fluid scoring guard who can play between the slots as a pick-n-roll threat or on the wings in a secondary handler role. He is a smooth off-the-dribble shooter, and his pace and ability to play at several speeds and levels gives him promising upside as a high usage creator. Offered by Bryant and Sacred Heart. Plays AAU with Expressions Elite.
Greyson Pierce (2027) 6'7 small forward - #4 ranked player in New England by Prep Hoops. Pierce is a big framed , skilled shooter, who also attacks close-outs with lot of ability. He has good instincts and competes on both ends. Plays AAU ball with PSA Cardinals. Offered by Bryant, and drawing serious interest from Quinnipiac, Merrimack, Longwood, Brown, Cornell, Notre Dame, Old Dominion, Pittsburgh, Rice, and Buffalo.
Bentley Shelton (2027) 6’5, 187lbs, guard - #11 ranked player in New England by Prep Hoops. From Evansville, IN, Shelton is a shooter with length and big hands. He can get his shot off with minimal space and shoot it with range. His recruitment is jumping as he has added a jab series and catch-n-create tools. Holds multiple D1 offers, including St. Bonaventure and Bryant. Plays AAU with City Rocks. 3.5 gpa

Rhett Broussard (2026) 6’0, 190lbs, guard - Broussard finished a stellar career at Goodpasture Christian High (TN). His ability to play both on ball and off ball showed throughout his high school career leading to winning basketball. His athletic ability and shooting touch will serve him well.
Jon Mwanda (2026) 6’3, 195lbs, guard - After a great four years at Heritage High(NC) where his scoring ability and defense intensity were on full display. He is a high level guard that is ready to have an amazing post graduate year in New England.
Jordan Leach (2026) 6’1, 170lbs, point guard - Leach is a point guard that makes everyone on the court better. He has the ability to score in transition but loves to get everyone involved and be a leader on the court. His defensive intensity and intelligence leads to fast break points.
Andrew Crayton (2026) 6’2, 170lbs, guard - Crayton has plus mobility. His shot forces defenders to guard him from the perimeter and his quick first step allows him to get by his defenders. Crayton is projected to have a breakout post graduate year at STM, after being a 1,000 point scorer at Haddam-Killingsworth High (CT). Plays AAU with Team Spartans.
Andrew Shipman (2026) 5'11, 160lbs, point guard - From California, Shipman's shooting prowess forces defenses to know where he is at all times on the court.
Scott Conopask (2026) 6’3, 180lbs, guard - Transferring in from rom Greens Farms Academy (CT), Conopask's shooting ability and IQ have been on display in the NEPSAC for 3 years now. He has now added weight room strength and has his game ready to compete at the highest level. Plays AAU with Academic Basketball Club. 3.9 gpa
Atticus Cort (2026) 6’0, 175lbs, guard - Court is a combo guard with the ability to run the offense or be your microwave scorer. His ability to get to the hoop and defend 1-3 was on full display last year for Winchendon NYC. His shooting stroke has allowed him to be a 3 level scorer and ready to compete with the best. 3.0 gpa
Anas El Shakery (2026) 6’2, 190lbs, guard - El Shakery was part of the AA Independent Team Tournament championship. He is a winner that from night to night can change his play style to help a team win the game. This past year he averaged 11 points 5 assists and 6 rebounds. He can run your offense or be an off-ball scorer and guard 1-4 with ease.
Kur Anyang (2026) 6’8, 200lbs, guard- Anyang was part of the AA Independent Team Tournament championship team last winter. His ability to guard 1-5 was on full display last year as he led the team in blocks and rebounds. He is a 3 level scorer that has a jumper that has won games last year. His plus mobility and wingspan makes Anyang a high level prospect.
