Mount Saint Charles Academy is on the Rise
Mount Saint Charles Academy is a private, Roman Catholic academy for grades 6-12 and a post graduate program in Woonsocket, RI. It was opened in 1924 by the Brothers of the Sacred Heart.
In 2024, they added a mens college basketball prep team to their sports program, and joined the New England Prep School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) Class AA conference. In doing so, they face some of the toughest prep school competition in the nation.
The team's 2025-26 game schedule and results will be found here.
The team is coached by Joseph "Ladi" Odugbela. Coach Odugbela brings a wealth of basketball playing and coaching experience to Mount, having been an assistant coach at Coyle and Cassidy in Taunton MA, from 2011-2018 followed by his successful turn as head coach at Rocky Hill Country Day School (2019-2023) in East Greenwich, RI. While at the helm his teams won two SENE regular season Championships, one SENE Conference Tournament Championship, three NEPSAC Class D Semifinal appearances, and two NEPSAC Class D Championship appearances. Ladi also coached two SENE Players of the Year, one NEPSAC Class D Player of the year, and one RI Gatorade State Player of the Year.
