Frederick Gunn School is an Early 2026 NEPSAC Tourney Favorite

The Frederick Gunn School is a private, coeducational, boarding and day prep school for grades 9–12 and postgraduate, located on a 220 acre campus in Washington, CT. The school was founded in 1850 by Frederick Gunn, a teacher and abolitionist. It is both a boarding school and a day school, with about 245 boarders living in one of the 10 dormitories and usually around 85 commuter students.

The Gunn boys’ basketball program routinely sends its best players onto play college basketball.  It annually vies for a seed in the New England Prep School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) Class B division post-season tournament. About once a decade, NEPSAC redraws the break lines to re-balance the number of schools in each tournament pool class. This summer was one of those years, and Gunn is looking strong as a preseason favorite for the newly constituted Class B Small division.
