Lake Effect: Erie Prep's 2026-27 Player Profiles
Erie Preparatory Academy is a boarding school based in Erie, PA, located about a mile from Lake Erie, and in between Cleveland, OH (90 miles) and Buffalo, NY (80 miles). It is a branch of Cornerstone Preparatory Academy in Pittsburgh, PA which is the parent and founding institution focusing on a Christian, college-prep, biblical-discipleship orientation. The class sizes are small and meet four-days a week. The enrollment is around 80 students, and the school was developed around its college basketball prep program.
The basketball program runs on three levels in the Erie Sports Center, a $30 million athletic complex.
The Post-Graduate team is made up of players from around the world and plays a national schedule. That includes competing in the Ohio Prep Conference. They train for roughly 20 hours a week. It is head coached by Ben Daniels, who is assisted by Drew Morrow and Andrew Howard. They are focused on readying their players for college level play and getting them scouted by and then recruited by college coaches.
The Prep team is made up of younger, non-post grad student athletes. They tend to travel in a shorter range for their game play. The primary focus is on skill development. It is head coached by Nick Battle, who is assisted by Daryl Smith and Brayden Reynolds.
The Varsity team is an actual high school team that competes in Pennsylvania interscholastic play, PIAA District 10.

Vincent Sheehan (2027) 5'10 point guard - From Annapolis, MD, but played the past two years in Department of Defense Education Activity, the system serving American military and civilian defense families overseas. Sheehan is a closer and an on-ball defender. In the 2026 DODEA Division III Europe final, he led AFNORTH (Netherlands) with 18 points and 5 steals The year before, Alconbury (England), he sealed a semifinal win with four straight free throws. Naheem Spriggs (2027) 6'7 forward - From Sykesville, MD, Spriggs is a late-blooming interior prospect with promising physical tools. Scouts highlight his natural ability to block shots, secure rebounds, and switch across interior positions defensively. His developmental focus centers on adding raw physical strength and expanding his offensive repertoire to fully maximize his frame. Played club ball with Global Squad.
