Brooks School (MA) 2026-27 Player Profiles
Brooks School is a co-ed college-prep, Episcopal-affiliated, boarding and day school located on a 270 acre campus in North Andover, MA on the shore of Lake Cochichewick, about 28 miles north of Boston. Founded 1926 by Endicott Peabody, who had already founded Groton School (MA) 32 years earlier, and named for Phillips Brooks, the clergyman who summered in North Andover. The school enrolls about 350 students.
Brooks athletics includes 15 varsity sports, but basketball has been its flagship, and the record is seriously impressive. The team competes in the Independent School League (ISL) and vies for a seed in the New England Athletic Prep School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) Class B (mid-sized schools). In 2017-18, they went 26-0. They won three straight New England championships, 2016 through 2018. They compiled a record of 84 consecutive ISL wins (2014-2020), 68 straight wins against all NEPSAC classes (2016-2018), six consecutive ISL titles (2014-2020) finishing top two in the league every year from 2009 to 2020.
Head coach Kenya Jones took over for 2022-23 and went 14-9 with a Class B semifinal run in year one. Two seasons later they won the 2025 Class B championship as the sixth seed, beating three higher-seeded team. Jones was named the 2025 NEPSAC Class B Co-Coach of the Year. Coach Jones has been at Brooks in some capacity since 1999. He spent 15-plus years under longtime head coach John McVeigh.

Daniel Cassamajor Jr. (2027) 6’0 guard – 2025-26 All NEPSAC B-Large Honorable Mention and All-Independent School League Honorable Mention. A physically strong, aggressive guard who attacks and excels at getting downhill. Uses his strength and body control to finish through contact at the rim. A tenacious on-ball defender with a bulldog mentality, he takes pride in guarding the length of the court. Can shoot it from 3 well enough to keep the defense honest. Pocholo Castaneda (2027) 5’10 point guard – Castaneda is a dynamic and crafty lead guard out of Canada who is improving with his pace, poise, and confidence. Quick with the ball and shifty in space, thrives in creating advantages off the bounce and finds teammates in scoring positions. A tough on-ball defender with active hands and a high motor. A reliable shot-maker from multiple levels, capable of knocking down jumpers off the catch or the dribble. 3.4 gpa
Eric Walford (2027) 5’11 guard – Walford has a tight handle and shoots it confidently with deep range off the catch or the bounce. Relentless energy and intensity on the defensive end, pressuring 94 feet and disrupting opposing guards. A vocal leader who sets the tone on both ends of the court. Sattar Olasode (2027) 6’8 forward - Olasode is a physically gifted forward with a high ceiling who continues to develop. Has a long wingspan and incredible timing that makes him a natural rim protector, and he runs the floor exceptionally well for his size. A defensive Swiss Army knife who can contain guards on the perimeter as well as lock down in the post. Offensively, he finishes strong through contact and has the ability to stretch the floor with a reliable open three. Projects as an impact player at the next level. Will Dobson (2028) 6’1 guard – Dobson continues to grow and has a chance to make some noise next season. A sharpshooting guard with a smooth release and deep range off the catch and his confidence is brewing. Makes smart plays on and off the ball and does the little things to help his team win. Gives 100% effort on the defensive end and often finds himself on the floor either diving for loose balls or taking a charge.
Eric Figueroa (2028) 6’10 forward - Figueroa flashed tremendous upside last season and is set to have a breakout campaign next year. Still growing and getting stronger and is comfortable as a face-up shooter and pick-and-pop threat all the way out to the 3 point line. Has smooth touch around the rim and solid footwork in the post. Max Maturah (2028) 6’2 guard – A true breakout candidate next season. Earned some valuable playing time last winter that should translate well to next season. A smooth shooter off the catch and bounce with a reliable floater in the lane. As his frame continues to fill out, his ability to absorb contact and finish through defenders will improve. Jack Rousmaniere (2028) 6’7 forward – Rousmaniere is a long, versatile forward with a high ceiling and a game that continues to expand. Offensively, he’s confident and skilled—has a soft touch around the rim, a steadily improving pull-up game, and a consistent three-point shot. Defensively, his length and instincts allow him to alter shots without fouling and keep perimeter players in front. Still growing physically, Rousmaniere’s blend of size, skill, and upside puts him firmly on a promising development path. NERR profile
Lemuel Vigo Catala (2028) 6’2 guard – Vigo Catala is a smooth, instinctive guard with a natural feel for the game. Gained more confidence last season as the year progressed. Handles the ball with poise and control and creates for himself and his teammates. Knocks down shots off the catch or bounce and finishes at the rim with touch. Continues to grow and add strength to his frame. Possesses an impressive basketball IQ and skill set with a chance to make some major strides next season.
Elijah Boston (2029) 6’3 small forward - Still early in his development, Boston is fully committed to his growth and consistently works to refine his skill set. A relentless, high-motor forward who brings toughness, energy, and a winning mindset. Finishes effectively at the rim while also showing the ability to knock down perimeter shots. Zane Gaskin (2029) 6'0 point guard – A skilled point guard from Barbados who is one of the island’s top young prospects. A polished three-level scorer who can stretch the floor from deep, create separation off the dribble, and finish effectively around the rim. Plays with strong pace and poise and shows the ability to control tempo while still hunting his shot. Video highlights
Aiden Richard (2030) 5’11 point guard – Transferred from Tewksbury Memorial where he earned Merrimack Valley Conference Second Team honors as a freshman. An electric, high-upside lead guard, who plays with pace, confidence, and a natural feel for the game. Scores it from all 3 levels and is equally impactful as a playmaker.
