Athletes in Action Ascending to the Top of Prep School Ball
Athletes in Action Prep Academy (AIA) located in Xenia, OH near Dayton, is an elite post grad basketball academy focusing on developing the total athlete (mind, body and spirit). In addition to a full schedule of daily basketball practices and sports performance training but they also have leadership and Bible classes. AIA has four full time certified sports performance and athletic trainers to care for the athletes. They have on-campus housing, a cafeteria with a personal chef, and they practice and compete in a state-of-the art John Wooden Family Fieldhouse. They have, in the past three years, sent six players to NCAA D1, five players to D2, six players to NAIA, two players to D3, and nine players to play JUCO ball.
AIA Prep was founded by director and current assistant coach James Bolin. Coach Bolin has been with AIA for 10 years coaching, mentoring, and leading young men. Bryan Weakley assumed the team's head coaching position three years ago and is known for his tough, smart and unselfish play teams. He always works to get his teams to be one the tightest-knit unit and the toughest competitors in the country. He has 14 years of NCAA D2 coaching experience and is Texas A&M International University's all-time winningest basketball coach. He left collegiate coaching in 2018 to follow his call into full time sports ministry. In Weakley's first season as the head coach of AIA (2023-24), he led them to a 27-8 record and runner up in Phenom Gold National Prep Championship Tournament in Rock Hill, SC. In year two (2024-25) he amassed a 38-9 record which led to a seed to the National Prep Championship Tournament (the Nation's top 18 prep school teams) in West Hartford, CT. In this year, year three, AIA joined the Elite Prep League (EPL) which is one of the nation's top prep school leagues. In early season action so far this year, AIA is again pushing their way into the nation's elite prep team rankings.

#1 Aaron McFarlane (2026) 6'1, 165lb point guard - From Port St Lucie, FL, McFarlane is really steady with the ball. AIA coaches feel comfortable with the ball in his hands and him taking care of it. He can really get downhill and can score and distribute well. He is working hard to become a consistent three point shooter and adding muscle to his frame. He has great leadership qualities that as he continues to grow he will lead a 4 year program really well. His projected level of play is D2/Low Major and could be higher with added strength. 3.0 gpa
#3 CJ Collins (2026) 6'3, 170lb guard - From Columbus, OH, the AIA staff feels that Collins is the best shooter in post grad ball. Many of their sets are geared to get him open. He gets face-guarded all the time and still hits shots. He's a high percentage 3pt shooter guarded or unguarded. He has a great, coach's son basketball IQ. He is projected level is Low Major, but as he adds strength, he could go higher. He is currently receiving interest from Mercer and Akron. 4.0 gpa
#11 DJ Moody (2026) 6'3 guard - From Pontiac, MI, Moody is a big time shooter. AIA runs a lot of plays to get him open. He is very accurate and has a quick release. He has really improved as a defender and can now keep players in front of him. He is very coachable and brings a good effort every day. His projected level is D2/Low Major and with added strength could be higher. He is currently receiving interest from Oakland Univ and Western Michigan and D2s. 3.2 gpa
#12 Caden Chinnia (2026) 6'3, 180lb guard - From Baltimore, MD, Chinnia is a very strong and physical player that can score at all three levels. He can really get in the paint. He is a willing passer. His projected level is Low Major/Mid Major and is currently receiving interest from Campbell, Georgia Southern, Coppin State, and UTSA. 3.9 gpa
#21 Kellen Quinn (2026) 6'0, 175lb guard - From Nashville, TN, Quinn is the son of a coach and really knows how to play. He is a great leader, very skilled, a culture guy, and is tough. He knows when to shoot, dribble and pass. Coming out of high school, he had preferred walk-on opportunities at Grand Canyon, Valparaiso, and Liberty. He also received interest and scholarship opportunities at Trevecca Nazarene University, Mid American, Nazarene, Simpson, College, Covenant College, Lagrange College, Tusculum University, Bethel University, Union University, and Volunteer State. His projected level is D2. 4.2 gpa
#22 Tiago Scola (2026) 6'0 180lb guard - From Buenos Aires, Argentina, Scola is the son of former NBA player Luis Scola. He is a true combo guard, with a high basketball IQ. Scola can really shoot the ball. He can also handle and pass well. He is really working on his defense to be able to consistently keep an offensive player in front of him. His projected level of play is D2.
#24 DeAndre Lott (2026) 6'4 200lb wing - From Indianapolis, IN, Lott is really tough. He's AIA's team captain and their coach says that he is a flat-out winner. He is a great defender who can lock up great players. He is a high character "everyday guy". He's probably not going to pop out at you right away when you see him play but if you watch him half a dozen times you will want to sign him. He has been knocking down catch and shoot threes for AIA all season. He is also a great offensive and defensive rebounder. He does so much to help the team. He would help a D2 or Low D1team right away because he already has a college-ready body and great practice habits. 3.7 gpa
#30 Davis Kemper (2026) 6'8 20lb forward - From Grand Rapids, MI, Kemper was injured AIA's first seven games this season, so he's getting his legs underneath him again. He can really stretch the floor and is a great shooter with a quick confident release. His body is college-ready. He competes and is a good leader! He grew up in a sports family and has great genes. His father is a four time Olympian as a Triathlon competitor and his mother was a great volleyball player at Michigan State. Last season he was offered multiple D2 scholarships and a preferred walk-on at Lipscomb University but decided to come to AIA to raise his exposure level. His projected level is Low Major/Mid Major and is currently receiving interest from Hillsdale. 4.2 gpa
#31 Ben Mukadi (2026) 6'8, 230lb center - A Congo native, but from Louisville, KY since middle school, Mukadi is really tough and physical and has good touch around the rim and good post moves. He just needs to continue to polish his offensive game more. Mukadi is really under the radar, wasn't offered by anyone out of high school, and is not yet getting recruited by anyone. Due to his size and strength, he could play at a lot of D2 and low D1 schools right now, and has a projected level of play of Low Major/Mid Major. 3.5 gpa
#32 Nicolas Juricek (2026) 6'6, 195lb wing- From Inca, Spain, Juricek is an elite defender and competitor. AIA has him guard the best offensive player on the opposing team. He is in excellent physical condition and can run all day long. He is a great cutter and screener, elite rebounder for his position. He's always wanting to improve. He can make an open catch and shoot three pointer but he is still working on improving his consistency. His projected level is D2/Low Major.
#33 John Whorton (2026) 6'9, 240lb forward - From Akron, OH, Whorton is a big body skilled big with a high basketball IQ. He has great touch on all his post moves and is a very good three point shooter and passer. He has very high character and is really coachable. His projected level is Low Major/Mid Major and is currently receiving interest from Bryant University and NE Omaha. 3.0 gpa
#34 Andrew Hoerner (2026) 6'8 220lb forward - From Miamisburg, OH, Hoerner is an elite passer and facilitator. He is a highly skilled offensive player who can score inside and out. He has very high character and is very eager to grow and get better. AIA feels that he is under the radar and is definitely a D1 big in the right program. He was offered scholarships at many of the NCAA D2 schools in Ohio but decided to come to AIA to take his exposure to a higher level. His projected level is Low Major/Mid Major and is currently receiving interest from Western Carolina, UTSA and Mercyhurst. 3.9 gpa
