2025-26 Mercersburg Academy Player Profiles

Mercersburg Academy is an independent college-preparatory boarding and day high school in Mercersburg, PA. Founded in 1893, the school enrolls approximately 450 students in grades 9–12, including postgraduates, on a campus about 90 miles northwest of Washington, D.C. The student is usually half boys and half girls. About 80 percent of the students are boarding students. They come from around the world, representing 31 nations and 28 American states, and the District of Columbia. International students account for 20 percent of the student body.

Their mens basketball program is college basketball feeder program. Mercersburg graduates have gone on to compete at all three NCAA collegiate levels and in overseas professional leagues. Over the years, the college list has included the Ivy League, Pac-12, ACC, SEC, and the Patriot League, as well the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) and the Centennial Conference. Alumni have played in the Euroleague and even for the Harlem Globetrotters. The team competes in the Mid-Atlantic Prep League and vies for a seed the Pennsylvania Independent Schools Athletic Association Tournaments.  They won the Commonwealth division tournament last year.

The team is coached by Sean Crocker. Coach Crocker has taught and/or coached at Boston Latin School, Washington and Lee University, Tufts University, Framingham State College, and Wheelock College. He has also worked as director of operations for The Hoop Group and for East Coast Fusion/Team Loaded (an AAU basketball program). His 2025-26 roster is again featuring some attractive college prospects as profiled below.

Simon Brennen (2026) 6'4 guard - A tough guy who prides himself on defense and taking charges. He is likely a collegiate soccer player but could play both sports at the right school.

Michael Kramers (2026) 6'5  small forward - Kramers is a big shooter and a long defender. He plays with high energy. Projected to be high academic D3 college player.

Joe Segal (2026) 6’5 wing - Segal has good positional size and is a high motor player. His has a quick release. He is also high level track athlete, could do both sports at the collegiate level.

Christian McCullough (2027) 5'10point guard - McCullough is a lightning quick point guard in the mold of Jacob Meecham (Bucknell). He is a plus shooter and great on-ball defender. Projected to be D2/D1/ Patriot League level player.

Nate Watson (2027) 6'0 guard - Watson is a very quick guard, with a quick release on his shot. He is  new to the Mercersberg program but will look to take on scoring role this year. Played for UK50 basketball in Shanghai Future Stars tournament this summer. His teams won the National Championships in England in both 16u and 18u. Projected to play at D3/D2 college level.

Camden Weyforth (2027) 6'7 small forward - A big wing that is a great passer for his size. He is a lefty shooter who progressed a ton last season. Weyforth looks to take on more scoring this year as a junior.  Projected to play D1. Played AAU with East Coast Cyclones-MHC 16u and made 3rd team All Made Hoops Circuit this summer.

Kellen Greene (2028) 6'2 guard - Greene is a tough and athletic player. He is an elite 3pt Shooter (shooting 40% as a freshman). He started every varsity game as a freshman. He is a strong defender. Has been offered already by La Salle. Plays AAU with Team Durant-EYBL.

Chase Rusch (2028) 6'5 forward - Rusch is an elite rebounder. He is still a bit raw offensively but plays very hard.
