2025-26 Dexter Southfield School College Prospects
The Dexter Southfield School is an independent co-educational day school located in Brookline, MA, educating students from pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade. It was founded in 1926 as the Dexter School. In 2013 the Dexter School merged with the sister school Southfield School to form Dexter Southfield. Dexter was attended by Joseph P. Kennedy Jr. and the 35th president of the United States, John F. Kennedy, along with other notable figures.
Their boys basketball program is a college basketball feeder program. The four values the team discusses daily are competition, consistency, communication, and care. Dexter's goal is to run a college-level program that will prepare their student-athletes for a seamless transition to collegiate play. The varsity team vies annually for a seed in the New England Prep School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) Class A tournament.
The team's 2025-26 game schedule and results will be found here.
The team is coached by former Babson College assistant coach, Matt Droney. His 2025-26 roster is again stocked with the college prospects as profiled below.
Lateef Afolabi (2026) 6'3, 6'9 wingspan, guard - An elite athlete that attacks the basket with force in transition. Owen Schuller (2026) 5'11 guard - Schuller was a 36% 3-point shooter on 6 attempts/gm last winter. He has deep range and will tilt the floor with his ability to shoot the ball. One of his best attributes is that he plays within himself - low turnover (under 1/gm) and never tries to do too much. He has quick feet, a strong upper body, and has a willingness to play physically on the defensive end, which allows him to guard up with success. His defensive IQ is noteworthy specifically as a team defender - he does a great job making the right rotation and understands where/when help is needed. Plays AAU with Team Sims UA. 3.2 gpa

He cuts extremely well and if you have good guard play, he will be a tremendous fit with his ability to relocate and find space. He shot the 3 at 34% this season so he is capable of stretching the defense. For a wing player, he also does a tremendous job on the offensive glass. At 6'4", he plays physically and can move his feet which allows him to guard up and down. He is extremely versatile, communicates well, and plays the game with the requisite physicality. Above all, he has a drive to improve, wants to be coached hard, is always the first to the floor, and the toughness he plays with impacts winning. Playing AAU with Middlesex Magic Alex. 3.4 gpa
Malik Adamson (2027) 5'11 point guard - Adamson averaged 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists on his way to an ALL-NEPSAC Honorable Mention as a sophomore. His tenacity, aggression, and leadership allow him to affect the game in a multitude of ways on offense and defense. He is terrific at attacking the paint in transition and half court situations, with or without a ball screen and forces the defense into rotation situations. He shot 32% from 3 on the season and has shown remarkable improvement over the last 10 months. One of the most physical and disruptive defenders you will see. He is a great point of attack defender, gets deflections off the ball, and defensive rebounds extremely well for a point guard. Plays AAU with Team New England. 2.6 gpa
Eyzaiah Grant (2027) 6'0 guard - Offensively, Grant does a terrific job playing without the ball - relocates to open space and his cutting adds much value to a halfcourt offense.
