2025-26 College Achieve Asbury Park Runs With New Jersey's Best
College Achieve Asbury Park (CAPS) is a free education kindergarten through high school public charter school founded in 2013 and is committed to preparing scholars to excel in and graduate from top colleges. The stated mission is to produce college graduates who will return to their communities to become leaders.
Their boys basketball team has become a dominant team in New Jersey. In 2023, one of New Jersey's most decorated active boys basketball coaches, Dave Boff took over the program. Boff is the former Roselle Catholic High coach, and former Bob Hurley assistant at St. Anthony in Jersey City. In his first year, 2023-24, the team completely rolled over the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association, Group 1 teams. So last year, his National team started competing as an independent team and started playing a number of national level prep schools. They went 19-11 and ended up being computer ranked 65th in the nation, surpassing literally hundreds of older programs. Their National team now vies against New Jersey's other strong college prep programs for a post season seed in the New Jersey Open Tournament.
The National team’s 2025-26 game schedule and results will be found here.
Their 2025-26 roster is again loaded with high level college prospects and is shown below:
Tobe Nwobu (2026) 6’1 guard - Coming off a 2025 Peach Jam title game appearance, Nwobu will be one of the better guards in the Northeast this season. He has an uncanny ability to blow by his defender at will but also possesses a strong midrange and 3 point shot. Receiving Ivy League interest. Plays AAU with NY Rens.
Eddie Lopez (2026) 6’6 small forward - Lopez, a transfer from Middletown North High (NJ), will look to step in and provide outside shooting and toughness to CAPS right away. Lopez should find himself on the receiving end of easy looks from CAPS guards off penetration and drop offs.
Jebron Harris (2026) 6’4 guard (Monmouth University commit) - After exploring other options last season Harris returns to Neptune City where he won a State Championship with College Achieve two years ago. The big guard will look to help CAPS make a run at the NJ State Prep Open Championship. Harris possesses a strong ability to shoot and put it on the floor to get to the basket.
Ny’Sean Kennedy (2026 likely to reclass to 2027) 6’3 wing - Along with Harris, Kennedy is a returner from the State Championship 2024 team. Kennedy will look to provide energy and hustle plays for CAPS. A very good rebounder and defender that can play 1-5, Kennedy should be a good piece for Coach Boff off the bench.
Al Tariq Reevey (2026) 6’10 Center. College Achieve is expecting Reevey to be the next big man out of "The Dave Boff School of Bigs" (which has included Naz Reid, Cliff Omoruyi, Chris Silva, Eunique Rink and others) to head to college ready to contribute in a big way. This shot blocker and major inside presence will be the anchor of the defense and provide a tenacity on the glass that CAPS will need for its tough independent schedule. Reevey has a developing mid-range and outside game that will make him a college coach’s dream at the next level. Plays AAU with NY Lightning. PH profile
Mike Sullivan (2026) 6'5 small forward - Sullivan is an inside/outside offensive player who attacks rim and can shoot the 3. He is also aggressive on the glass.
Marque Johnson Jr. (2028) 6’6 wing - #1 ranked player in New Jersey and #34 in the nation by Prep Hoops. A Top 1% athlete, Johnson will look to build on his strong freshman campaign as CAPS' best defender. Heading into his sophomore campaign Johnson will continually get the assignment of opposing team's best player nightly. With the ability to defend 1-5 and a developing outside shot look for Johnson to continue to explode on the National scene with CAPS. Holds multiple D1 offers, including Rutgers, Baylor, Kansas State, LaSalle, Mississippi State, Arizona State, Hampton and San Diego State. Plays AAU with NY Rens. PH profile RTB profile
Malachi McKelvin (2028) 6'7 small forward - McKelvin is a great athlete who plays above the rim and excels in transition. He is developing perimeter player who will be adding to his in multiple ways of scoring. He is also a good rim protector.
Dominic Mauro (2029) point guard - One of the better 2029’s in the country, an absolute gym rat, Mauro will look to step right in for CAPS and get his teammates easy looks off penetration and has NBA range from 3. Has already been offered by Holds a LaSalle. Plays AAU with NY Lightning. Video highlights
