
2025-26 Cheshire Academy Player Profiles
Cheshire Academy is a co-educational college preparatory school located in Cheshire, CT. Founded in 1794 as the Episcopal Academy of Connecticut, it is the eleventh oldest boarding school in the nation. CA enrolls about 360 students from approximately 31 countries and 19 states in grades 9 through 12 plus a postgraduate year.
Their mens basketball program prepares student-athletes to be successful academically and athletically at Division I, II, and III college programs across the country. The Cats play a 25-plus game schedule, and its basketball alumni have gone on to play at all levels of college basketball and professionally. They vie annually for a seed in the New England Prep School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) Class AA tournament. In doing so, they face some of the toughest prep school competition in the nation.

The team is coached by Jim McCarthy. After playing at Hamilton College, Coach MCCarthy coached at Williams where he won a D3 national championship. From there he coached D1 at Yale, Northeastern and Towson University. His 2025-26 roster is again loaded with college prospects as we profile below.

James Caldarella (2026) 6’3 guard - Coming into Cheshire from Bishop Hendrickson High (RI). Two-time Providence Journal Rhode Island All State Team. Calderella is very versatile and an excellent shooter. He makes plays for others and guards multiple positions. Offered by the Air Force Academy. Dillon Hinkson (2026) 6’2 guard- Hinkson is a good shooter and a scorer. Plays AAU for CT Elite.
Jeremiah Medor (2026) 6'1 guard- Medor is an athletic lefty, who makes plays for others and is a good finisher. Plays AAU with New Haven Heat. Solid gpa RTB profile
Seth Pryor (2026) - Pryor is a combo forward with good length. a 3 level scorer with range out to the college line. Competes at both ends of the court. Can guard 1-5. Plays AAU ball in Crown Basketball. 3.9 gpa RTB profile

Liam Norton (2027) 6’5 small forward - From Berkeley, CA, Norton has a versatile game. He makes shots, defends multiple positions, and plays hard. Plays AAU with Project Triple Threat. Good gpa
Aidan Maguire (2027) 6’0 point guard - From Brooklyn, NY. Maguire has an excellent handle and is a good playmaker. He has a good feel for the game and can score. Plays AAU with New Heights AAU. Good gpa
