2025-26 Berkshire School: Beauty and Basketball

The Berkshire School is a private, co-educational boarding school located in Sheffield, MA offering grades 9-12, and a post-graduate year. The school's 400 acre campus, set at the base of the Berkshire Mountains, may be one of the most beautiful school settings in the nation. Berkshire's 430 students hail from 30 states and 39 countries.

The first chapter in the over a century-long history of Berkshire Basketball began with the 1913 Greens winning 80-percent of their games. Berkshire competes in the Class A Division of the storied New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) league. The basketball program that has enjoyed multiple 20-win seasons and has twice achieved the ultimate team prize of winning the NEPSAC Championship.

The boys varsity basketball team is coached by Wilbur Allen. Coach Allen played four years for legendary Temple University coach, John Chaney. His key 2025-26 players are profiled below.

Sebastian Guete-Ramirez (2026) 6'4 guard, Berkshire School (MA) - Guete-Ramirez joined the Berkshire prgram as a junior. Last season, he played in all 25 games. Guete-Ramirez made 46 3’s on nearly 5 attempts per game. Guete-Ramirez’s active motor led to 41 offensive rebounds from the guard position, 21 steals and 27 deflections. Plays AAU with The House We Built. 3.5 gpa

Jacob Rice (2026) 6'4 guard, Berkshire School (MA) - Rice is joining Berkshire after a three year career at St. Laurence High in Burbank, IL. Rice spent his Junior season at Western Reserve. Rice is an elite three level scorer. Rice finished his career at St. Laurence being an All-Catholic league selection averaging 13 points, 6 rebounds and shooting 40% from the 3 pt. line. He has plus size length that allows him to guard multiple positions. Plays AAU with Chicago Hoops HGAL. 4.5 gpa

Jordan Suiter (2026) 6'5 guard, Berkshire School School (MA) - Suiter is joining Berkshire for his senior year. He most recently attended high school in Tuscaloosa, AL. He moved to Alabama from Wisconsin. His Father, a former D1 athlete, works in athletics, so he has moved quite a bit. Suiter possesses all of the intangibles you want in a guard. He’s vocal, an active defender, and competitive. He played on the UnderArmour Circuit for Pro One out of Alabama for Coach Danny Servick. They rave about his ability to shoot the ball and guard the other team’s best player. Suiter is a DI Prospect.

Michael Ervin, Jr. (2027) 6'0 point guard, Berkshire School (MA) - 2024-25 All NEPSAC Class A Honorable Mention. Ervin, Jr. led Berkshire last season in scoring averaging 13.9 ppg. He also averaged 4 assists, 4 rebounds, and 1.5 steals a game. He led the team with 58 made 3’s in 23 games played, shot 84% from the FT line and ended the year with a positive assist-to-turnover ratio. Ervin’s speed and quickness are an asset on both ends of the floor. Plays AAU for NY Gauchos 17u.

Cameron Huff (2027) 6'4 small forward, Berkshire School (MA) - Huff shot 50% from the 2 and 39% from 3 as an undersized forward. Huff only appeared in 19 games due to injury, but when available, his impact was felt on the offensive end. Huff shows fl ashes of offensive brilliance with an 'old school" approach.  3.6 gpa

Mikey Mitchell (2027) 6'4 guard/forward, Berkshire School (MA) - Mitchell joins the basketball program while playing corner and safety in football. On the court Mitchell guards four positions and shows an ability to make catch-n-shoot 3’s. Mitchell is an athlete who will garner collegiate basketball and football interest.

Roy Rojo Valdez (2027) 6'2 point guard, Berkshire School School (MA) - Valdez joins Berkshire after spending time at the NBA Academy in Latin America. Valdez is a lights-out shooter, and a heady, crafty and skilled lead guard. He is also a strong student who is excited to finish his high school career in New England. He plays with great pace and is a tremendous competitor. Valdez has an ability to score at all three levels. He is a point guard who is capable of playing as a 2 guard.

Griffin Hawley (2028) 6'6 Forward, Berkshire School (MA) - Hawley joined Berkshire with an extensive background playing lacrosse. As a freshman, he showed flashes of an ability to stretch the defense. Hawley has a natural ability of protecting the rim. He is an intriguing prospect as the youngest member of the Varsity program. Plays AAU with Pick Enroll. 3.9 gpa
